The development strategy of a successful company is based on the training of future specialists within the company.

It is this personnel vector that is the priority of Niva-Holding, one of the leaders in the Belarusian mining engineering industry. The personnel team will be more stable, more professional when it is aimed at achieving results and is familiar in detail with the features of the functioning of a particular enterprise. And vice versa: no strategy will be successful if it is based on attracting only established professionals.

A lot of work has been done for the development of young employees within the company UPE “Niva” – the management company of the holding “Niva-Holding” – for two years.

Cooperation with universities and colleges

To date, cooperation has been established with a number of higher education institutions (Belarusian National Technical University, Baranovichi State University, etc.); vocational and secondary specialized educational institutions (Branch “College of modern technologies in mechanical engineering and car service” UO “RIPO”, Lyuban professional agricultural lyceum and many others). This makes it possible to receive guaranteed employment at the enterprises of Niva-Holding corporate group for students studying at these educational institutions after graduation and obtaining a specialty.

“I would like to be a turner – let them teach me”

The next step in achieving the goal of training young employees and solving the problem of a shortage of workers involved in machine-building specialties in the region, and at the enterprises of the holding, was the estabishment of a new specialty – “Machining of metal on machine tools and lines. Technical operation of the equipment” for 2021/2022 academic year on the basis of the Lyuban Agricultural Lyceum. 20 children entered the new specialty in the 2021-2022 academic year.

The initiative to open a new specialty before the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Minsk Regional Executive Committee was made by “Niva-Holding” together with the leadership of the State Educational Institution “Luban Professional Agricultural Lyceum” with the support of the Luban Regional Executive Committee.

By the beginning of the admission of the first students – future turners of the 4th category and repairmen of the 3rd category – all the conditions for an excellent and interesting study have been created. Workshops were equipped for practical training, in which turning, milling, drilling, grinding and other machines were installed. Classrooms are equipped with visual teaching materials, training programs have been developed. Some practical classes are taught by employees of the Urechye Mechanical Plant, which is part of the holding.

And for the residents of the Lyuban district, there was an excellent opportunity to get a profession in demand in the industry, and to get a job after graduation, without leaving home.

…The 2022/2023 admission campaign is just around the corner. Enter the specialty “Mechanical processing of metal on machines and lines. Technical operation of equipment” will be available to everyone on the basis of general basic education. The term of study is 3 years. Upon graduation, students will receive qualifications: “turner of the 4th category,  mechanic-repairman of the 3rd category.”
